Cons

- Below industry standard compensation - Hit hard by COVID, promotions slow - They preach transparency yet go behind your backs and make decisions - Executives can be greedy

Pros

People, people, people. The people in my office were absolutely the best.

Cons

Micromanagement is the norm. Pay is relatively low. Culture of distrust. Even salaried employees have to fill out time sheets every week.

Pros

-Cvent has an excellent sales and marketing culture - definitely world class. If you're a direct seller and not a junior rep with poor territory you'll be spoiled with tons of qualified leads -so many products and services to sell! so many ways to make money and exceed your OTE if you take the time to learn the in's and out's and value props -I see a lot of former employees writing poor reviews on leadership but my experience in sales has been the opposite. Sales leadership are so supportive, give me great and constructive feedback and commend reps when they do good selling -enablement is over the top here (in a good way). we have technical product experts who help with demos, teams to delegate custom demos and RFP's to, assets galore etc -very, very strong Sales Development organization that is held to a very high standard. This also helps to fill the funnel -have the autonomy to do things how i want to do them

Cons

-you really do need to drink the kool-aid here, stay positive and learn the in's and out's of the industry and product to be truly successful. there will be challenging times, such as when Covid-19 hit, but things are on the up and up -my positive experiences may not be consistent with other depts. Many in Client Services seem jaded/numb. In Account Management (within Sales), there are a lot of mediocre "order taker" reps who are just going through the motions. Since these are the two teams supporting and onboarding customers, sometimes the customer experience can suffer a bit. -this is not a culture that emphasizes "work / life balance". Stay far away if that is what you are looking for. Cvent is not a lifestyle company - we grind especially hard in sales, and you will be held to a high standard (not a bad thing imo). Sometimes the bravado is a bit much. -it is true that you have to put yourself in a position where you have leverage to get paid fairly. Any reps who come up through the SDR ranks will be be grossly underpaid as they move into a direct sales role -Product / Engineering teams are notorious about missing release deadlines which makes it tricky to set proper expectations with customers -tech-stack has gotten better over the years but still missing a few elements. Lot of manual effort and redundant tasks. I got 99 problems and our Salesforce instance is a big one.
