Pros

The people (not management). Overall, pretty young work environment.

Cons

This is definitely just a Sales company, with very little respect for and focus on any other department. On most teams, your role is extremely dispensable, so always keep that in mind before getting too comfortable. Absolute 0 room for growth, people tend to leave after 2 years. The pay is absolutely terrible, for the amount of work you put in. Hourly employees are expected to work 42.5 hours a week with very little opportunity for OT unless you’re traveling for a client onsite (clearly not happening for a long time). You’re expected to sign a 2 year contract , and if you leave within the 2 years, the result is paying a very expensive invoice. All in all, this industry is slowly dying, so you’re better off looking elsewhere that pays more than 43K.

Pros

Cvent has a great training program that they start you out with. They give you a goal that is obtainable in your first year to let you get your feet wet. If you slay it you can really make a name for yourself at the company. You don't necessarily have to work 90 hours a week as long as you work smart not hard. If you do well you can really accelerate into leadership positions and get a big pay raise once you prove yourself. Yes, you will work hard its a sales job but they will reward you with good commission, awards, trips, recognition etc. Fast growing company that is by far the biggest and best in the Event Management space. Benefits grow and get better every year. CEO and VP's care about their employees and make themselves available to everyone more then I have ever seen in a company.

Cons

Pay and benefits are probably still lower then the Microsoft and Salesforces of the world but if you stick with the company as they continue to grow something tells me you will be rewarded.

Pros

In the 14 months I spent with Cvent I learned a great deal from an insanely supportive team and manager. Within individual teams there is a lot to be said about peers helping each other to improve professionally. Several amenities in the office are nice, including the nitro coffee and the access to snacks around the floors. Cvent certainly is successful and you will be part of the preeminent event software company (B2B) around the globe.

Cons

Despite the company's success it is clear that the organization is predicated on a solid tech product and brute manpower rather than operating in the sense of good business efficacy. The fact that 42.5 hours is not overtime but a standard schedule on top of hiring people as a solution to near any problem leads me to understand that Reggie and Co. are building out the company for sheer growth, whether that be sustainable or not and whether that be efficient or not. Compensation is far below market as Cvent targets college graduates that don't yet have the bargaining power for a higher asking price. Additionally, promotions and pay increases are slow and low outside of the golden child department of sales-- who seemingly gain promotions at any point out of the semi-annual cycle. If you don't work in sales or tech you WORK for sales and tech and ultimately will be left out of the majority of benefits that the company provides. Cvent has built its post-public growth on hiring and sheer expansion rather than growth and truly applying energy and thought to process and employees
