Pros

Engineers are extremely fun with work with, except one or 1.5 ex. Many great ...(making up the min word count...)

Cons

Quoting the CEOs post on Linkedin, the company is shutting down Seattle office, of where one of the founders resides. Originally an Android company, someone high up came in with another interest and completely wiped out the culture and pivoted directions a couple time. (This is non private info. You can find it in internet articles.) Closing down the Seattle office so as to consolidate engineering and improve communication under one roof? The Seattle engineer head count way outnumbers the Palo Alto. The palo alto office is an executive office. Ah no wonder. What is the asset for an engineering company? Engineers. Oh! They just let all of them go. To save a sinking ship, you threw some people off the boat and filled holes with dead bodies. Meanwhile take down the Android flag and fly a new "AI" flag. Wasn't one of the VPs hired for "intelligence" let go (according to TheInformation) before you found this new AI flag?

Pros

A lot of the people who used to work there are good.

Cons

In April 2016, Cyanogen had about seventy people working there. In November 2016, they had forty -- half the company left, plus four or five hires. Everyone who isn't in upper management is working on finding another job. I saw a coworker almost cry when describing how a member of upper management treats them. They said that, every time they met with that person, they immediately went to HR after to record what the person said to them. I've heard similar stories about another member of management. My last manager at the company tried to manage me while he was on vacation halfway around the world. He used this to try to smear me in front of HR -- passing off completed tasks as not having been done, claiming things showed no traction despite updated JIRA tickets, lying about deadlines.

Pros

Cyanogen was a great place to work when I started. More management was brought in, and everything slowly went downhill. Hopefully the new CEO can fix it.

Cons

* Management is clueless about what their employees are working on. * Too many buzzwords. Obviously their product needs more sockets and graphs to be successful. * Focused on metrics over everything else. * Laid off a large chunk of employees, then started hiring again the next week. * Plans to monetize their product were always half-baked, and almost always were things users wouldn't want. * Focused too much on hiring for certain positions (SE), while other positions were desperately needed as they were understaffed/overworked. * Quality of new candidates dropped drastically while I was there.
