Pros

-Great Seattle area employees. Made some friends I'll hang onto. -If you want to work on Android OS it doesn't get much cooler than this. -New devices, cell phones, etc, all the time. -Paid pretty well, but benefits were lacking, so kind of a wash as far as that goes.

Cons

-Employees in remote locales are less than completely honest. -Sr management treats employees like cattle that is replaceable at any time. -HR\Operations demonstrates open hostility to employees on an ongoing basis. -Sr Management is totally clueless, and void of any idea how to monetize things. Plans are completely thrown out every 3-4 months, and employees laid off because management can't figure things out. -Bus dev guys sign the company up for projects with a 2 week delivery time frame, and the Dev team takes at least 1.5 months to get Cyanogen OS up and running. Never mind time for testing! -Quality control takes a back seat, and is all but the last priority. CTO drives ship cycles based on how much negative feedback he is getting on social media. -CEO displays open disdain for the employees as well, shouting them down and talking over them in company meetings. Often times just dismissing questions outright that were NOT answered.

Pros

* The best Android and embedded systems team you'll find, anywhere. * First year was electric and even though the company is a smoldering rotting carcass now, the former staff are still close friends. * The open-source project that was the foundation of the company is still going strong.

Cons

* Narcissistic former CEO ruined the company's culture and reputation, pushed out the original founder, then got himself fired. Looks like hostile takeover now. * New management team is clueless. Didn't know what they had, wouldn't listen to anyone who did, fired all the engineers (troublemakers) and product teams. * Design teams are kept spinning for months on end by CEO creating "vision pieces" which never see the light of day * Awful HR management who only comes to the office to fire people * Exec team doesn't care about anything other than backstabbing each other and taking shortcuts.

Pros

The other employees. The snacks and drinks are a plus but for the most part, people are here for each other, not the company. When I got here, I was ecstatic about the team and ideas, we had company events and great people to attend with. As execs got hired, it got worse.

Cons

* Management will lead you to believe they have it under control even while doing the exact opposite. * People walked around feeling like every day was their last (Look how 7/22 ended) * HR violations daily. * They will hire new execs to replace the team members. * They will cover the windows to the main meeting office to write a list of upcoming layoffs. * Absolutely no direction and a new pivot every quarter. * ASTRONOMICAL amounts of spent cash by execs on retreats (before they lay you off) * Asking about current sentiment will lead to 'haters gonna hate' * The community originally behind company will back out, most of it has. * The drive for monetary gains is high but initiative is low. * 'Good ole boy network' is decimating what's left of leadership. * Employees openly walk around discussing new careers. * They tell you "20%" bonus but don't count on that, at most you will see roughly 5-6%. * Regardless of your evaluation, execs can have your Mgr laid off. * This company is just as shaky at the base as it is up top based on recent performance. * Layoffs happen every 6-8 months.
