Management doesn't know what the goal is. There are constantly changing requirements, there is never time to do things right, only time to do them quick-and-dirty, and people have been promoted for doing sketchy things like hiding projects from fellow teammates. Optics are really important, if it doesn't look like you're doing work then upper management will take note, even if you're doing good work and your boss thinks you're doing well. Most people with solid real experience have been fired, usually for disagreeing with management, or they have left on their own, for the same reason. People with "unlimited vacation" have been told they should take no more than 12-15 days off, which is pretty low for silicon valley. Safety is less important than preparing for demos. It's slowly becoming more and more common for new hires to leave in a few weeks or a few months. I'm pretty surprised that there are not more negative reviews on here.
