Fast growing company

Pros

The company is growing fast. The acquisition by Danaher is a good thing and Cytiva is getting a lot of attention from above. The people are good and there's more than enough work to be done.

Cons

I had to wear multiple hats; automation engineer, team manager, facilities engineer, manufacturing engineer, process maintenence, all while trying to work on six major projects with tight deadlines with a team of three other engineers. Most of the time I spent trying to find contractors to outsource work to try to meet deadlines. As an engineer you can just go with the flow and do well. If you try to actually make a difference, you will get burnt out.

Poor communication, untrustworthy

Pros

Some of the coworkers are decent people

Cons

Pretty much everything else. Management never communicates anything clearly, policy changes are constant to the point where nobody knows how things are meant to be done, innovation is not welcomed. They conduct applications and interviews for promotions, but they've already decided who will receive the promotion and waste your time. If the person they had in mind doesn't apply, they simply won't promote anybody. Layoffs are made without warning, effective immediately. Upper management does not care.

Pros

Good pay and benefits and ok facilities.

Cons

This company could not care less about their employees. Senior management has zero idea how to lead, and still loves to tell the rest of us on how to become leaders. My department was 25% women 5 years ago and is now around 5%. They talk a lot of talk about diversity and inclusion but have never acted in a way that represents what they claim to care about. Projects were run without any regard of input from technical leads or project managers. Agreements were made with customers before internal processes were finished by our teams. The facility is nice but employees are not given dedicated desks and are required to reserve common space desks every day (5 days a week is required). The very nice new section of the building is reserved for executive management and employees are not allowed to enter or use what is offered in those spaces. Even though these are the same employees that were required to be on site every day during the construction of said facilities. The company has great pay/benefits which makes it hard to step away but the culture and management is so poor that it is not worth it. I do not see a great future for this company but I am not in senior management nor am I a man, so they would never listen to me or be concerned with my thoughts and opinion.
