Pros

Co-workers help you immensely, paid weekly on commission (if you make commission that week)

Cons

You take in a car on trade and if it gets less at the auction it comes out of your pocket, the insurance is a joke, everything you do/say is micromanaged to the point of ridiculousness. The Presidents in DFW are the owners sons so nepotism city. If you don’t make commission for a week you’re paid for 37 hours at minimum wage as a draw which you pay back, so I don’t see how I’m an employee and not 1099. 6 days a week from 745-6 (saturdays 9-2). If you work that schedule and don’t make a commission that week you’re take home is less than $300 (which you get to pay back on your next commission check)

D&M Leasing Response

Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback. As with all employee and client communication we take comments like these very seriously. Most associates consider being an employee vs a 1099 contractor a benefit. We offer benefits such as health, dental, paid vacation, and 401k with match. We also pay for and provide leads to our employees which is not typical in a 1099 agreement. New hires will typically start off working six days every other week to help boost their business. Our hours are much more family-friendly than the traditional dealership model of working past 8 or 9 pm. The long hours associated with sales and building a client base are certainly not for everyone and we understand that. D&M prides itself on being a family-owned business and many of our associates consider themselves part of the family. Our typical leasing agent will work abridged hours on 2 Saturdays a month, which allows them the opportunity to get a faster start on the path to unlimited earning potential. The training is conducted a few days a week to help new associates learn quicker to provide maximum support to their customers. This training was initiated as a result of feedback from successful associates who focused on mastering the learning curve quicker. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Good company, Good income, honesty with clients is stressed, good hours.

Cons

Calls are recorded, and employees are threatened with fines if they don't make their allotted calls, park in the correct area, get enough google reviews, you name it, If you need your workplace to be a happy one, this may not be for you. If you don't mind being micromanaged on everything, and don't mind doing 10 things right, then being threatened with a fine over the one thing you did wrong, you will like it. They definately aren't interested in hearing their employees input on how to improve things. Communication is one way. It's not a bad place, but it's not for everyone.
