There are some really great people here, very genuine, lovely people to be around. No PTO policy (but really that’s just so they don’t have to pay out when you end up quitting)
Cons
Where to start? To counter the only “Pro” listed above, there are also a lot of people who will shake your hand with their right, and stab you in the back with their left. All these “positive” reviews that are clearly created by the HR and Execrutives in the Back Wall always talk about how collaborative everybody is, and as a previous reviewer said, it’s just like high school. There’s tiny little cliques that work only within their own little bubble, and when you’re not doing what they think you should be doing, they go to your boss to tell them instead of just asking you for help like any adult would. We are talking about 40-50 year olds here. They are losing clients left and right, big ones, and they are only hanging on by a thread as it is. There’s no new money coming in, old reliable clients are leaving, layoffs are happening in the form of making people so uncomfortable that they quit, and the “transparency” that they like to speak of is rather opaque, like the frosted glass of a bathroom stall door at a fancy restaurant. The thing here is that nobody in the office truly cares about the product. It’s fast food sales statistics, poorly made I might add, and it’s simply not interesting. The company has such a bad reputation in the tech community that nobody actually wants to hire anyone that works here, so people are kind of stuck. There is a large portion of folks that have been there for 10+ years and all hey do is complain about their lives and their jobs, it’s a real drag. The captain of the ship is a mystery, really, I don’t know anyone in the office that actually knows what he does besides sit in his office all day and watch the ship careen toward the rock shore. This coupled with the cronies hired to fill the upper ranks, who also do nothing, really makes for a giant waste of money, and no real leadership at any of the upper levels. There is absolutely no communication between departments at all, either. Everyone assumes that everything is someone else’s problem, so they just push it all off onto whoever else will do it in order to make themselves seem more important than they actually are. Pay is anywhere from 10-15% below the average market right now, and annual raises are non-existent. Benefits package is a joke across the board. Health plan is high deductible, low coverage, dental is worthless, 401k match isn’t even worth the investment. Culture isn’t even a thing here at all. If you’re not part of the little group, they don’t want you there. So that really means no young people, <35 and you’ll be feeling the unwelcomness real quick. I don’t think they really have any values, either, I haven’t picked up on any. If they did have values, they’d take certain aspects of IT a lot more seriously. Oh, yeah, the actual technology being used on the back ends is insanely antiquated and irresponsibly out of date. It really wouldn’t take much for a major failure and massive corruption to occur. I would not recommend to anyone that they work here. As you’ll see shortly after this posts, there will be a glowing review posted by management, it’s fake, they’re all fake, nobody here seems happy and if they are, they’re leaving for some strange reason. Seriously, the turnaround is bananas. Except they are at a point now where someone quitting is a financial relief to them, so they don’t hire anyone to backfill. They’ve lost 5 engineers in the last year with 0 replacements. They are not dedicated to helping anyone develop and evolve their careers here, nobody gets room to grow, they just get pigeon holed into one thing and stay there until they leave. Do not come work here.
