      Used to be great. It's gotten worse over time.

      Pros

      Good opportunities to learn new skills and become proficient in the mortgage business. Because of the incentives DR Horton offers on their new homes, business stays more steady than at other competitors. I appreciate knowing I have more job security because of that.

      Cons

      The company has become stingier over the years. Various job roles and departments used to receive certain bonuses or commissions based on their production targets, and now some of those bonuses have been taken away. Remaining bonuses have become harder to obtain because management has raised the target that needs to be hit in order to earn it. When you take away incentives for people to perform well (or make it more difficult to obtain), then people will lose desire to perform well. Quality will go down, and both employee and customer satisfaction will be hurt. It changes the environment from one in which production employees are motivated to do their best and excel, to one where a large amount of people have mentally given up and just do enough to keep their job.

      More employees should come forward, previous and current

      Pros

      Pro: I'm no longer there. It's hard to find a pro. The Company has tanked since morals and values no longer exist. D.R passing away has been a huge impact.

      Cons

      They have unrealistic expectations. The managers control the volume, which affect your matrix. Team members have no faith in their management. The managers have no clue how to do their job. The managers scold the employees like a child. If you are out of the office for a day, the managers talk crap about you on the floor. They do it to every employee. There is a lot of nepotism. If you want to be promoted, you better be related or having an affair with someone in management. They preach work, life, balance, they have it, the employees do not. Employees are required to work holidays and weekends, the managers NEVER. DO NOT put them on your out of office reply either. That is a HUGE NO NO! I've been discriminated against for my race, sex, and life event (that never affected my work). At some point you get tired of giving too much of yourself to a company who doesn't care about their employees.

      Work from home, strong procedures guidance, good IT

      Cons

      The pay is on the lower end and the benefits are so so. There were payroll issues my last year due to high turn over in HR.
