Pros

-Ability to communicate directly with the CEOs and executive team even from an entry-level role -Management now receptive to company culture issues and trying to improve -The product is an unmatchable AI-security solution pioneering the cyber market -Massive company growth (valued >$1B in 5 years) -Young, bright-minded employees -Commission potential

Cons

-History of poor management and lack of attention to improving culture (until now) -Layout of leadership for offices...the main leadership is in the UK, while other executives spread across the U.S. - makes it difficult to streamline objectives, clarify roles, etc.) -More focused on company growth instead of employee value -Low salaries -Lack of roles/difficult mobility (has improved a bit in the past year) -Benefits/perks don’t compete with other companies

Pros

Darktrace has a truly unique technology for cyber security and it's exciting to be part of a rapidly growing company.

Cons

Relative to the SF office, I've had a lot of success in an entry-level sales position. Most of the office will be your age, so career mentorship is non-existent. From conversations with various colleagues, there is strong dissatisfaction with the inside sales manager and outside sales manager at the SF office. For the most part, you're merely seen as an employee who must be weekly and monthly quotas rather than a colleague. Collaboration is minimal as both inside and outside rep positions are given highly individualized responsibilities. Overall, I would be very careful about wanting to work at Darktrace if you highly value a company who will invest into your long-term professional development, rather than just categorize you as a producer or non-producer. Regarding commission, don't let recruiters fool you into thinking you'll make a six-figure salary within your first year. This is extremely rare. For example, inside sales reps make $250 after taxes for every $100,000 revenue you bring to the company. That's very little. Be sure to evaluate the commission structure very well.

Good company; it's called 'work' for a reason

Pros

The product is great and the company is growing; most employees have a decent amount of autonomy and are well compensated. At the end of the day, everyone is young and working hard. They're pretty upfront about it during the interviews - it's a lot of work, there are a lot of challenges, and you're generally trusted to work hard and effectively. Management aren't going to be your best friends, but they know what they're doing, and everyone else is young and friendly and smart. There have recently started being more team events and happy hours, etc. to build the camaraderie a bit. At the end of the day, if you're open to working hard and being paid well, it's a good place to be. If you're more concerned about perks and unlimited PTO and a free full service coffee bar, etc., then maybe Hooli is worth looking into instead

Cons

It can be tough work, and equity would be nice. Plus, the UK offices get like 5 weeks of PTO, and the US only gets the standard two weeks, which is kinda lame. More remote work options would be nice, but that's not the end of the world
