Pros

Benefits are great, pay is better than most other places within the same guidelines.

Cons

Lots of captains sinking the ship. They put unqualified people in management positions and turn their eye when they screw up. If you are in their click they like you will cover for you etc...once you do something they dont like you are banned from their "group"

Pros

The business is one that will always be needed but Darling may not always be there if the numbers aren't high enough. The pay is just underpayed for the work but one can learn how to do the work and get a better job elseware.

Cons

The company is making millions of dollars, check on the stock market, yet it cheaps its non-management workers and is continueing to takeaway many benefits that have kept the good employees working there for less pay that could be made elseware. There is no recognition for the work done, everything is about the numbers. Management is continueing to change and may even change its name as it is getting to big.

Pros

You run the show for the most part! Good base salary and health benefits plus mileage reimbursement. iPad, iPhone, nice free work shirts, and laptop with sales force are also a plus. Always in restaurants meaning some owners give you free food.

Cons

Upper management lacks fundamental leadership skills Operations will throw you under the bus and communication is terrible Company has a bad rap with all big chain fast food restaurants that are not customers so opportunities for new business in large quantity are low/ nonexistent. You will not land big chains unless competitor screws up Customers resist signing new equipment contracts as they are one sided and carry too much risk Service side and operations are slow to react to customer issues and do not care No opportunity for growth and no rewards for big accounts high revenue accounts. You can work some serious margins in a contract and won't be compensated Company will make you file police reports since theft of their product is rampant. 5 per week is quota which could take 10 to 15 hours per week of non revenue generating work All or nothing commission strategy, meaning you need to hit a, b, and c. Aka no commission for you Leadership thinks what works in Cold Springs corporate works in CA. No market research is taken into consideration and there last project flopped and next one will too. Absolutely no differentiation from the competition and charge more than competition for grease trap cleaning which customers see no value in. Lowest price wins in the business or for purchasing cooking oil highest price wins. The containers you provide will not fit in some locations which will force you to walk from business. 401k contribution is pathetic. Just remember, this company use to own a huge market share and lost it due to is lack of service, stubbornness to pay for product, and do nothing approach when the price of the oil raised several years ago. They were not picking up the phones when customers called. It will be decades and new leadership before they are able to gain market share within So Cal again.
