Pros

Good Salary & Benefits with a great diversity policy.

Cons

The tech really doesnt apply in most commercial cases and is a nice to have (like extra insurance) There is no established market especially outside the states. This is why the entire new business sales force globally have been laid off!

I’m disappointed to learn that this is your experience at Dataminr, especially considering our recent anonymous engagement survey showing that over 92% of surveyed employees believe they have open and honest two-way communication with their manager and that their direct manager genuinely cares about their wellbeing. I’d welcome the opportunity to learn why this isn’t your experience and how we can carve a path forward where you feel valued. It's important to myself and the rest of the leadership team that employees know how much they are valued. This is why we’ve expanded our benefits program based on employee feedback to be more inclusive (e.g. family planning, increased parental leave), and invested more into our DEI, mentorship, and management programs.

Pros

Revolutionary technology, the capability it awesome. Perks and benefits are market leading

Cons

Being managed by someone equally qualified as me with less management skills - they didn't know how to manage, felt insecure and so bullied/micromanaged. Would never wish it upon anyone. VERY hierarchical and not open culture. Once was told that I should be embarrassed I reached out to someone a level above me to get insight from them as it was "not respecting their level". CEO is not inspiring despite being the founder. HR is joke if you voice anything (benefits and perks don't cover up not looking after your people).

Thank you for your feedback, I'm so sorry that this was your experience –– this does not align with Dataminr's values at all. We provide many avenues for leadership and management skills development such as regular manager training programs, access to LinkedIn Learning licenses, and executive coaching for our senior managers. We strongly encourage, and often require, our people managers to take advantage of these opportunities. We also have an open-door policy for employees to discuss grievances such as this one. Our HR and DEI teams work collaboratively to ensure that our diverse teams feel heard by deploying regular surveys and actively listening to issues raised by our ERGs. If you're open to it, please reach out to people@dataminr.com. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your specific experience.
