Pros

Good IT system for reporting

Cons

Absolute worst senior management in the industry. Closed old boys network. No room for advancement. Cut costs at expense of guests, employees and the physical property.

Great Privilege and Honor

Pros

I was with DHR for approximately 4 years and it will be an experience I will never forget and one of which I will always be deeply grateful. It was a true privilege and honor to work for this company/family; however, it will only be such to those who hold themselves highly accountable for the success of not only themselves but more importantly for the company. The support from corporate is outstanding and ultimately, you reap what you sow. Don't only work hard, Work Smart; come to work prepared and ready, not only to do your own job but also to learn the next job. There are no "favorites" and "inside clicks" as some may say, the company operates the same as any other successful organizations out in the world, they reward those individuals who come to work and contribute to the success of a company which has given you the opportunity to A. have a job and B. understand that your contributions also pay for the lively hood of those associates and employees around you. This is a great company to join and to work for and if you are willing to push the limits and happily accept the challenges to exceed expectations, it will be an experience to catalyze you to next level.

Cons

There are always some cons with any organization but none that affected me in a negative manner.

Pros

It is a place of employment.

Cons

Severe budget cuts upon entry. Davidson invades and depletes resources with a vengeance. They cut all supposedly superfluous positions like night cleaning crews, bussers, valets, hosts, and a third person...in any department. The staffing is cut in half and those remaining are forced to take on the responsibility of three to four other positions at no additional compensation. This completely eliminates any semblance of a work-life balance. They beef up the sales team, but have absolutely no staff to support the influx of business. They resort to the use of temp agencies and pay for it by digging into their house servers tip pool. One of my coworkers had to report them to the department of labor, after which, management was ordered to retro pay all the money they robbed from the banquet servers revenue. It's disgraceful. Upper management is a uppity boys club - pretentious, degrading. They have to outsource hundreds of their midlevel managers to every property location all over the country, dozens of times a year - because they can't keep anyone of staff. If you're staying at a Davidson managed property you can be sure that the Chef used a box cutter more than a spoon, you're "newly renovated room" is held together with gum and paperclips, and no one's done more then a spot cleaning since Davidson took over. But don't worry - if you make even the slightest complaint your room and food will be comp'd because if I know anything about Davidson, it's that they'd rather sweep a problem under the rug then take positive steps towards preventing the problem in the first place.

Thank you for sharing your concerns related to your employment with Davidson Hotels & Resorts. I am sorry your experience with our Company was negative. Your experience is absolutely not the way we want a Team Member to feel either during or after their employment! Our leadership team is always interested in “taking advice”. Coincidentally, we’ve just wrapped up our Team Member Opinion Survey for all hotels where our leadership teams will carefully review the results. Please contact me at 678-349-0945, I would appreciate having a conversation with you to understand more specifics. Again, thank you for your candor and I do hope to hear from you.
