Pros

Great leadership. They do believe in developing their advisors. Concerned about career development for employees. Work remote- which allows flexibility.

Cons

Communication between some departments could be better. Need more diversity in degree programs.

Pros

Remote work environment, work/life balance is valued and encouraged. Great benefit options including additional services for mental and physical health. Opportunities to grow. Supportive leadership. They make it known you are valued as an employee. Pay is fair and there are plenty of opportunities for overtime

Cons

When I interviewed, I asked specific questions about how much importance is placed on metrics. I was told that they mattered in terms of performance reviews. However, I feel they severally underestimated the importance of metrics day to day. Metrics and performance are constantly part of the conversation. It is not impossible to hit the desired metric goals; however, the daily emphasis on hitting these numbers could be stressful for those anxious or uncomfortable with it. Plus, I think when you take an advising role, you don't expect metrics to be the most important priority. Student care is definitely #1 in terms of priority but hitting those metric numbers is a close second.

Thank you for sharing your review, I am glad to hear that you feel valued and supported as this is our aim. You are right, student care is always first but your feedback on the metrics is also valued. We will be sure to add this as a discussion point in future interviews. Please feel free to reach out to us at Talent_Acquisition@devry.edu if you have additional input to share.

Pros

I've been with DeVry for about 8 months and have seen so many promotions and advancement from within. DeVry cares about it's colleagues just as much as it's students. There are so many opportunities to improve your skills and management helps you put together a plan to advance in your career. You truly feel they care about your success in and off the job.

Cons

The insurance benefits are not the best. Because I feel the school and the company are top titer when it comes to making opportunities available to all, it's truly surprising and frustrating that the benefits do not match that level of quality care. It's hard to find in network providers even in a big city because of the second rate Healthcare company DeVry chose to offer it's employees in the expensive benefits package.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience of working at DVU. I am glad to hear you connect with the development opportunities we offer and value your input. I wanted to invite you to reach out directly about our benefits offering. Our benefits are administered by a private organization (UMR) because it offers a concierge type service to our colleagues (you can reach out to them and they will do all of the leg work to find you a provider based on your individual needs) but our network coverage is from the top healthcare insurer in the US (UnitedHealthcare). We are here to answer any questions you may have and offer guidance on our network if you would like to reach out to me at Talent_Acquisition@devry.edu
