Horrible, no focus at all, sycophancy, zero benefits, no career growth.

San Diego, Competent staff, h1-b sponsorship.

Cons

The position title is a misnomer. Software development is what you have to do, no innovation, no OR related stuff. So if you are passionate about OR, don't even bother applying here. There are better opportunities out there. Simply, no respect and attention to what the employees say and feel about their job. Very egoistic and rude management since they have a monopoly in this niche field and they don't care what you bring to the table; If you don't comply to their wishes, you'll be out in no time. Overall nature of work is repetitive, no innovation and no consulting. They just have a few software which were built a decade ago and all they do is mint money through maintenance updates. High turn over, and no formal training makes the environment quite insecure. No bonuses, raise or benefits. It is quite clear that even they do not want their employees to work there for long as no body has worked in this company for more than a few years.

Pros

1. Perk days we leave at 3:30 pm one Friday per month and one Friday off per month. Time off allows hope for interviewing and finding a real job. Paranoia is a common theme and approved by the ownership. All employees' emails and desktops are remotely accessible, viewed and reviewed. Emails are always reviewed. If you keep your head down, don't state your opinion, do what you told and not argue, you will survive. 2. Many co-workers are nice. 3. If you love drama series, or if you want to start write a new sitcom, you can get tons of unique ideas at this place, but if you prefer minimal drama in your life, this place will be hell for you because there is no escape from the drama as most of it is initiated by the ownership and favorite people at the moment (favorite people also change, don't feel too comfortable). 4. You don't need to think for yourself - this is HUGE! - others think and make decisions for you (you can come in, put in your hours and leave without taking accountability). If you are creative, enjoy challenges and like to perform - this place is not for you. If you like being told what to do and how to do it (if you love micromanagement), you will fit right in! They will even tell you how to write emails and how to make calls! 5. This place is OK if you need a job to pass some time until you can find a real one, BUT you will pay a price for this, unless you like to be abused by the management. 6. There have been some restructures, new, but not (once again) qualified management. They are keeping up good job to spy on and favor employees to the owners. At least the LinkedIn and Monster.com advertisements have stopped for now because we do not have room for growth and waiting for the expansion, there are rumors that we do not have money for the furniture.

Here are some bullet points to describe Deccan Sr. management: • Fake • Paranoid • Dysfunctional • Negative • Demeaning • running around like a chicken with its head chopped off • no direction • owners have their doors closed door • rude • dishonest • cheap • 2 faced • back stabbing • not trusting • irrational • Condescending Would you want to work for a company where senior management forces employees to post positive comments on glass door??? Even if you are a very positive and a top notch performer, this place will make you cynical. You will never use your experience and knowledge here. It means nothing. Forget it! The sr. management knows how to kill morale. If you are not happy with something, then the President will tell you that you know where the door is... (don't let it hit you on the way out). Management frowns upon innovation, progression and change unless it is their idea, or they make ideas their own!! So, don't expect any credit. The environment is very secretive (what can you expect when leadership is extremely paranoid) It is very hard to grow professionally; many feel like they are being underutilized and unchallenged. Employees who get promoted to the higher level positions, don't have hands on experience, training or even appropriate education, but they know how to get around and talk with the upper owners of the company.

Their is very little in terms of competition which allows for overpriced products

Cons

The company is inadequately staffed, with staff completing critical roles such as HR background screening of new employees and therefore very unprofessional.
