Pros

1. Good title 2. 3 weeks vacation plus perk days off 3. great clients 4. developing software for fire departments is rewarding as you feel like you are contributing back to society 5. If you do fit the very unique mold of this company you can do well and move forward

Cons

1. Poor management - Management is in fact moody, rude, and disrespectful. 2. Micromanaged - you are required to copy your boss on every email and the president on every outgoing email. I was required to send 100% of my emails to my boss prior to sending to clients. All of my emails were returned to me completely reworded and torn apart. I was never able to read their minds of how every small detail should be worded. In addition, all projects I completed were redone and corrected. 3. Pay is below market value. I took this pay because I was changing career paths and willing to take a pay cut in order to gain experience. 4. Impossible Standards - they expect PERFECTION. Absolutely nothing less. In fact I was told that "mistakes are not acceptable". In my opinion and experience people learn by making mistakes, this is how we grow. I was let go due to making too many mistake, even though none of these mistake cost the company $$, clients, or created any negative impact. They were only a result of being in a transition period of learning the new industry. Grammatical errors and forgetting an attachment in an email are examples of unacceptable mistakes. 5. High turnover - I was at this company for about 4 months. In that time they fired 3 people and 1 person quit. Prior to my arrival there had been several others to leave the company for reasons I did not know. 6. Managers are overworked - everyone was too busy which was not good for morale 7. Not allowed to ask for help/No support - I was told many times that my asking questions or for help was inconvenient to my manager. I was told she was too busy to help me with my work. As a result mistakes were made which led to my termination 8. Unfriendly environment - managers with offices stay behind closed doors all day. There was very little interaction among employees not business related. 9. No encouragement - I was never told that I did something right or given credit for the tasks accomplished. I was able to re-engage a client that had been quiet for several years and that meant nothing to the company. 10. Management doesn't listen to staff 11. I was embarrassed to be part of this company during their annual conference. The President, Director of Ops, and Office Manager were verbally abusive to the staff at the hotel. ADVICE - If you need encouragement, room to be yourself and make a few mistakes to learn, or are just not a perfectionist I would STAY AWAY from this company.

Pros

Good products like CAD Analyst, ADAM, etc. Already built several years back by Raj Nagaraj.

Cons

Worst Leadership. No Direction. Latha Nagaraj who was the CEO was the worst people to work for. Before hiring, they talked about big stuff. However, actual work is repetitive and boring. Nothing new to learn. No care for employees. They show they do care but they sake employees most of the times. Layoffs in no time. After I joined, they fired few analysts, and PM with no notice. Worst culture. Too much micromanagement. I highly recommend to stay away from this company. It's better to stay jobless for few months.

Pros

1. Ability to help a rewarding industry (Public Safety) 2. 1 Friday and 1 half-day (Friday) off a month 3. Community service is fun and great way to bond as a team.

Cons

1. Extremely out-dated office environment. The run down kitchen doesn't help either. 2. Lack of focus and organization at all levels at Deccan. 3. CEO, Latha Nagaraj, does not hide her extreme favoritism through the company. If you're not a favorite, you're on the deep water. 4. Deccan is very every man for himself. Managers hide behind closed doors and pretend to care about helping their team. 5. Work culture is one of the worst I've experienced. There are little to no interaction between colleagues beside work related items. When the CEO is in the office, employees keep their head down and walk on egg-shells. 6. There is utter lack of respect for Deccan employees. The CEO shows signs of extreme unprofessional behavior and at times hostile behavior towards her hard working employees. 7. Deccan products are clunky and out of date. I am not sure why clients spend so much $$$ on these products that barely work. We are constantly working on fixes and bugs to get these applications to work properly. 8. Sorrento Valley traffic is horrendous. 9. No flexibility in work schedule even though most of the employees are salaried. 10. Horrible benefits. We are not allowed to add spouse/family to insurance. 11. Very cliquey environment with the senior managers. 12. Management has shown lack of respect for our clients (ie. making fun of clients, talking about clients in a negative manner) 13. Make false promises to clients to get their applications completed on time or having upgrades to our products. 14. Cheap, cheap, cheap! 15. Pay is below market value. .
