Not so good for women

Pros

Excluding furloughs, it is a stable job.

Cons

Few women achieve pay grades over GS-13. As pay scales increase, the percentage of women holding those positions decrease. Women who do slip into those higher paid positions are often given less power as compared to their male counterparts. If you are a woman, go there to get experience then get out.
