The good and the bad

Pros

Great company (if you can tolerate the liberal culture) - that takes pretty good care of its employees, salary, pay raises to ensure that employees receive commensurate pay that other companies offer their employees, choice of 4 different healthcare companies, 7.5 hours of PTO every 2 weeks, pension and 401K, the US firm shuts down between Christmas and New Year's and extra free days off like 4th of July and the day after Thanksgiving.

Cons

Micro management seems to have entered the scene which now includes every thing you do be documented combined with daily team meetings that can go on for hours and negatively impact productivity finishing the week with a one on one meeting to go over everything you documented.. It feels like the days of the empowered employee are over and it is near impossible for large companies like this to restore empowerment to the workforce.

Pros

Great for junior developers with no experience or anyone from India.

Cons

There is no future for American develoeprs with experience. When the Commonwealth awards them a contract because they're the lowest bidder, they hire 50 developers fora year and then fire them all. It's a well known rumor locally but I had to see for myself. It is sadly true but they love to keep the folks from India on Visa's for some reason. The culture is primarily Indian and they speak Hindi in the meetings. It's so bizarre. And they are designing low grade software for most of the Commonwealth.

-Long working hours (on average 13 hours a day) -You only get paid for 8 or 9 hours depending on your agreed contract with client. Typically is 9 hours a day. (45 hours per week) -Management and Seniors always make it difficult for your to grow or move around within Deloitte -You are told you won't be working during holidays; however, you always end up absolutely have to work during Christmas weeks. -Mainly only indians work there.
