Friendly people, easy communication, new campus coming, so excited changes are on the horizon.

Very little room/opportunity to move up in most departments.

Pros

Great retirement match! Wellness facilities are awesome! Under ground tunnels are great. The University recently developed a more flexible work policy. There are some very talented individuals working here. The University truly values diversity and inclusion. In general, there are several interdepartmental collaborations happening and the environment within most departments is healthy and produces outcomes, despite challenges.

Cons

The latest changes coming from the Provost's office have led to a toxic culture overall, however, where employees don't feel comfortable sharing feedback. Employees don't have the same level of shared governance as they used to. Employee expertise and work/life balance are not respected. Multiple positions have been cut within the University leading to understaffed units and this is further halting innovation and leading to burnout. Meanwhile, the Provost's office has grown from a two member unit to a five person unit over the last year or so. It is also very uncommon for the University to hire competent individuals from within. Typically, the hiring process favors new hires.

Management gets no feed back or direction from the uppers.
