-Group benefits are very good, and the premiums are 100% paid by the company.
Cons
-The culture at Descartes is over-worked and under-paid. HR will boast a good work-life balance, but management (finance), will do whatever they can to burn you out and run you down. -constant acquisitions to grow the company are made with little regard to the capability of the resources available. Attempts at integration of new acquisitions are slow and unorganized, drowning the individuals in work with little recognition. -only manager level and above are eligible for bonuses, while everyone else only sees .5% to 1.5% salary increases, with little hope that it will ever get better. Some don't even get a raise. -finance management are constantly in disagreement with one another regarding priorities and service responsibilities from one finance group to the next. -overall, this company will look good at first glance; flexible hours, wear jeans everyday, good benefits, but the appeal will fade after about a year or two when you realize that there is merit to all of these negative reviews. - Finally, management disregards comments made here on Glassdoor and boasts that negative comments are only because employees, former or current are slighted, but are not valid.
