Pros

- Diverse teams with great team members to learn from and collaborate with. Opportunity to expand your network cross departments. - Flexible work arrangement: 50% WFH / 50% office - Brand new building, very central location - Good efforts to set up social clubs/events - 2 extra "recharge weeks". - Opportunity to develop knowledge about Audit/ Risk/ Compliance

Cons

- Unrealistic targets (especially during the current economic situation and/or different markets). All Reps reviewed on the same target benchmark which is unfair (ie. Performance of 100% outbound reps should not be evaluated the same as reps getting mostly product requests). In addition, you will be required to make up targets when talking time off. - Very siloed Marketing and Sales activities and abysmal marketing management leading to poor overall results. More accountability, empathy and understanding at higher levels could solve a lot of issues. - Higher management seems to be very disconnected from the environment and the difficulties faced by reps. Extreme pressure applied while not considering team's frustrations and points raised. - Competitions set up misleadingly. Ex: tournaments with considerable monetary prizes (different from commissions) mentioned since the start. Unfortunately, it can take 4 months and counting to get your prize, even when you ask for updates. - Direct managers are under very high pressure from above, leading to dreadful work atmosphere. Beware of burnouts and poor mental health. - Direct impact from negative atmosphere : very high turn-over (up to 10 people leaving under a 3 months period, out of 30ish people). - Basic training in place, not very suitable for the knowledge and skills required. Training tailored specificaly for R&C could be greatly beneficial due to the number of different solutions involved. - Entry job with virtually no opportunity for career progression unfortunately. Fine if you plan on staying SDR.

Your thoughtful and honest feedback is greatly appreciated. We certainly agree that our team members at Diligent are intelligent, helpful and driven individuals who help us all grow individually and as a business. We’re also glad to hear that you appreciated our flexible work options, competitive benefits, and the vibrant social events we offer to help build camaraderie among our colleagues. That said, we’re very sorry to hear your other comments regarding areas where your experience was not as positive. This description is not reflective of the positive and growth-focused work environment we strive to create and we are actively working to address some of the challenges associated with our high-growth and rapid change. Here at Diligent we have big ambitions, including high performance expectations, but we never want our team members to feel that their goals or workload is overwhelming or unrealistic. We realize that each department may have different things they are working to improve, and we’re actively investing in resources and processes to better the employee experience with strategic hiring of new team members, intentional coaching for both personal and professional development, and more comprehensive onboarding and enablement training. We’re also working to provide better career development tools for our team members with standardized career progression models, and we continue to add new ways to better recognize our talented colleagues. As for your comments on senior leadership and your direct managers, we take these concerns seriously and would like to understand more context around your feedback. If you’d feel comfortable, please share the specifics with us through our confidential HR email, HRconfidential@diligent.com. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We truly appreciate your feedback and your suggestions for better supporting SDRs and enabling better engagement with management as we are always looking for opportunity to improve. Thank you for your contributions to Diligent, and we wish you all the best going forward! - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

Great teammates in Christchurch, and everyone there was willing to jump in and do whatever needed. For a while it was a fantastic company to work for. When I started there was super low employee turnover - there was loyalty and staff loved their jobs.

Cons

Things started to go downhill when the CEO changed... The loyalty from the Christchurch employees was repaid with redundancy, without even the opportunity for continuing to work for the company remotely. The years of knowledge and experience that were held within the Christchurch office were invaluable, and instead of offering any of us the opportunity to carry on working remotely for the company (even when we offered to work in different timezone hours), we were flatout told no. The reason given for the office closure and redundancies was the timezone difficulties, which was a line that nobody ever believed. All the people I worked with in the company went out of our way to work in with those in other timezones, and we were very successful at it. The real reason operations were moved to Budapest was for the company to pay less in salary/wages. Once the decision was made, and the teams in Budapest were started up, the entire top management in the company essentially forgot that the staff in Christchurch existed, and that we were still expected to continue to get releases out as well as train up our replacements. All successes in terms of releases were attributed to the new offices and teams, and there was absolutely no acknowledgement that those of us who continued on in Christchurch were even part of it all. The huge wait time between being advised of our redundancies and our actuall rolloff dates was SO long, which was purely to the benefit of the company. It was so they could continue to leverage our massive amounts of knowledge and experience. No option was given to anyone at all to bring their redundancy date forward, which lead to so many people resigning rather than work in such a toxic environment for management that clearly didn't care about us at all. I know whoever replies to this from Diligent will acknowledge that it was a difficult time for everyone, but that it was what was best for the company. That's just a line that they tell themselves because they just don't want to admit how absolutely damaging it was to staff to make them stay on and train their replacements when they loved their jobs so much and thought they'd have them for years. They tell us that they were doing such a good thing by paying us out so much for our redundancy payments, but the fact that we had to stay on for 18 months or more in a company that clearly didn't want us, was soul crushing. Many decided to leave. I wish I'd not needed the money!

Thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback and for your many years of service to Diligent. It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed working with your colleagues in Christchurch. We agree that our team members around the globe are incredibly helpful and supportive and have been throughout a time of change. The decision to move our operations to Budapest was driven by several factors, including our need to access a large pool of tech talent. Hungary has a thriving tech community with over 80,000 software developers (compared to NZ’s approx. 16,000) and 12,000 STEM students graduating each year. The location also played a major role as it’s a 2-hour flight to any major European capital, and only one-hour time difference from our Galway and London hubs. And you are right, with the different economy, we can bring on more developers for less cost, which is also a sound business decision when considering our aggressive growth targets and development needs. We are building something that has never been built before. Diligent is an extremely ambitious, highly iterative place to be, with huge expectations for what our team can do. We don’t always get it right, but we work together as a team to constantly evolve and move forward to meet our goals. Once again, I want to thank you for your service to Diligent. We appreciate your comments and will take them onboard as opportunities to improve. We wish you the best of luck moving forward. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s so great that you’re experiencing a positive work culture and finding plenty of opportunities for advancement and growth — and, of course, that you’re happy with the pay and benefits. We’re also glad that you’re feeling the importance we place on a good work-life balance through introducing initiatives like Recharge Weeks, two additional paid weeks off to rest, recharge and reconnect with all the things you love! We hear your feedback on agility and are actively working to improve in this area. We are continuing to invest and build new ways to improve overall operational excellence, and this will be a strong focus for us over the coming year. With regards to keeping staff apprised of changes, our monthly Town Halls, intranet, Slack Company News channels and regular email updates from ELT have all been designed to improve communications and keep staff informed of what’s happening in the business, but we’re always looking for ways to improve.
