A lot could improve

Pros

Passionate, talented teammates Games are critically well-received and include some pretty cool IPs

Cons

Career growth and satisfaction vary across project and department, but generally don't meet employees' expectations. Crunch varies also, but can be severe. Has been cited by many ex-employees as a catalyst for industry burnout. Heavy emphasis on being onsite + consistent stress = sickness is pervasive and spreads easily. If you're a woman: beware an undercurrent of sexist behavior that's largely left unchecked. Should issues arise (hopefully they don't), resources for handling it have historically been very limited.

Fun, but toxic

Pros

I worked in Quality Assurance at this studio. Pros: Big name IPs Product can be fun/exciting to work with (If you're a fan of card games) Co-workers are typically board game/video game hobbyists, which can be a fun environment

Cons

Frequently very long hours Nearly no possibility of upward mobility Raises almost never happen Poor Organization Reactive Development environment Releases are too dense AND too short to create highest quality work Upper Management seemingly apathetic to creating a high quality product, and merely want a passable one Upper Management seems to think very little of the QA department Pay is low for the industry, and they are stingy about paying people what they are worth No clear organizational structure No actual middle management for Quality Assurance at all, leaving individual teams to fend for themselves New feature work is typically implemented incorrectly (or not at all) on first attempt Weak benefits package
