      Pros

      The #1 pro to work for Discord is the people & culture. I won't deny that there are people who can be difficult or cause difficult situations, but the majority of my time at Discord has been working alongside extremely talented, passionate, and kind people.

      Pros

      - WLB is generally decent - ICs are smart and friendly. People are collaborative, really smart and impressive. - Compensation is competitive

      Cons

      - The leadership is astoundingly bad. They fired all the middle managers and have ICs report directly to ex-big tech directors, most of whom are not good at their job. - They like to fire people who have been widely acknowledged as strong performers when things don't go their way; leadership likes to shift blame to the team and throw people under the bus. I have never seen a leadership so cutthroat and so unwilling to take accountability. Do better. - Impossible to grow a career in. Managers care more about making themselves look good rather than growing and supporting their team.

      Pros

      Discord's interview process was a well designed welcome to the inside of the company. I learned about the company's values, business strategy, and how to use Discord through the intentionality baked into the process. Being on the inside, I see the company stack its operating rhythms in ways that focus on business objectives and enable employee participation in meaningful ways. I'm very optimistic about how I see the company being led.

      There is a learning curve to use Discord for internal communications.
