Pros

Work functions thrown all the time, nice corporate kitchen, security guards always went above and beyond.

Cons

Management- refused to listen to help implement a better work environment for the positions recruiting for. As well as special treatment to certain employees. Also, would state for years on end things would get better however just let things sit by the way side to where there was high-turn over and no retention. Never had weekly meetings with your own manager to go over stats, goals to set, etc. Hired anyone and everyone regardless of not being qualified. And then Regions would fire people for no reason. Nepotism within all regions/even corporate. No work life balance. Poor treatment from Regions and Corporate. Every region has different cliques in stores and Managers are not held accountable for their own metrics thus pushing the blame onto others. No accountability held. False information given. If you are not in the clique you are treated poorly. Regions would discriminate against those with disabilities, tattoos, hair color, etc. Managers did not want to open full-time Tire Tech positions as this would eat into their yearly salary. People can not live off 4-15 hours a week, and if you are liked then maybe you'd get more hours.

Pros

Good pay, bonuses, pto time.

Cons

Culture in the region has tanked. Only focused on profits, and terminating people in the way. Store managers often gets threatened how they will loose their job. Regional staff are constantly looking for ways to get managers terminated, and rarely are there to help. Not a great place to retire from, you will more than likely be terminated first. Regional leadership cares about the profit, and not the family life. They expect you to show up at 7am, and leave by 7pm. Guaranteed 12 hour workday. Leadership is more focused on why we are loosing service techs, rather than focusing on why we are loosing managers and seniors(should be the most valuable piece) . Regional VP used to care about you personally, but has lost touch with everyone except his top performers. Managers expected to know that they are easily replaceable. Staff spends more time looking into legalities of how managers can be terminated, rather than spending time with them getting to know them to help them achieve greatness. Managers and seniors are not allowed Saturdays or Mondays off. Makes it impossible to have any hobbies. Can’t own RVs, atvs ect, but the regional staff will tell you that, as they are sitting on their own boat!.We are unable to take holiday weekends off, but they sure can! Some AVPs are more focused on pushing people out, and justifying why it’s okay. Not sure if regional VP actually agrees, or is just letting the avps do whatever they want at this point. Most meetings get spent talking about how we are inferior to other regions, yet other regions can actually trust their leadership. What a concept. It once existed, but has once passed.

Pros

Decent pay, bonuses, and there is truly good people that work here……

Cons

But in return those are the faults. Once you’re in the discount tire system and you buy in to the “dream” there is no way out. You get so hooked to the money that looking at other opportunities that could be potentially better for you and your family go out the window. This company has some good apples for sure but man are there way more rotten ones. They fire the people we need and keep the lazy ones that linger around… They make an example out of the great employees and forgive the sucky ones. I don’t get it. Countless people have been fired over misunderstandings. The company has some great things but your walking on egg shells
