You will work your tail off usually for $10 to $12 per hour. You will not get benefits or hours to support a meager living. Many times, you will be forced to 'Clock out' due to not being busy. You just sit around and wait for it to get busy before you clock back in. (Isn't this against some labor law?)
Many times i have been asked to come in on a 'day-off' only to get there and then told it isn't busy enough and to go back home. Sometimes if i'm scheduled to be 'off' at 4:00 pm, i'm told to stay late because it is too busy to leave. I normally don't mind because I am usually lucky to get 30 hours a week. I'm sure the Managers must be treated better than the other employees? During the slow months of December, January and February, sometimes my weekly paycheck is less than $75. There is no way you can afford to rent an apartment and depend on Discount Tire to make a living.
