Pros

You are surrounded by a strong talent.

Cons

My work hours were 7AM to 7PM (no joke, and I was exempt). I always worked weekends and when I took PTO time. You are given a "crack berry" and expected to respond even when traveling world wide because they activate your international roaming to be in constant contact with you. Employees who have been working there for some time are treated sub-par when it came to pay compared to new employees. Very passive-aggressive environment. The culture is VERY bureaucratic. It seems like only employees who previously came from MBNA got promoted and moved up. If you want to succeed in this company, make sure you cater to the people who have the most influence with management, regardless of title. Get ready to be thrown under the bus when your manager makes a mistake. You get promoted based on how well you play your politics.

Pros

The pay is good and nice benefits. Very diverse company. I like how they award their employees. BUT.........

Cons

Big turnover rate! Discover Card hires a new group of people every week, because a group has left. Why? there's no consistence and management does not adhere to policy. There's a open door policy, but your business spreads like wildfire. They expect you to meet unrealistic metrics and have countless call listenings. While having meetings about how if you don't improve your job will be on the line. Career Opportunities; are open since there's in and out traffic, but prepare to get your nose dirty. All, I mean ALL!!! promotions are all pre-selected. Your performance makes up 30%, as for the 70% who's butt your kissing.

Pros

Starting out you are what is called a miner, basically you are placing outbound calls trying to get in contact with the cardmembers. It is extremely easy to do and mostly you are leaving scripted messages. They give lots of treats and gift card as incentive.

Cons

The coaches have no idea how to lead. My team lead has been on LOA for 2 months with no type of replacement or help from the department manager. I have never met my department manager. Because there is no TL the coaches are trying to step up but their expectations of a team full of new employees are very high and harshly imposed. They try to put everything on you, if you don't succeed at using your coaching what should happen? I shouldn't decide my consequences. Weekend shifts are very early even for those who work evenings on the weekdays and a roll call email is sent out with a list of employees who are late or no show to the entire department. The supervisors from every team are extremely rude or selfish. You have to brag about your success in front of the whole team to get acknowledgement, you can't let the results speak for themselves. Even if you do well in most areas if you are struggling in any other you will be treated as a failure. I was told by a trainer checking in on new employees that if you can't meet expectations then you will be forced to quit. I'm not sure what that means, but I have no idea why you would say that as a person in power position.
