      Pros

      This is a good place to work relative to other similar tech companies. In my experience the emphasis is on good not great. Yes, the work life balance is great. The physical location was great for me.

      Cons

      The pay is below market median by 10-15% in engineering, no 401k match, and no bonus. Basically you pay for that work life balance. That stock better do amazingly well one day. As a result there are lots of early career engineers and some of the more experienced folks have left.

To address some of the issues you raise: our compensation team runs extensive analytics and ensures me that DocuSign typically pays around the median. We are not aware of any group in the company that is paid 10-15% below the median for the industry. As for bonuses, all employees are eligible for our EBITDA bonus and Directors and above are on an Employee Incentive Plan (aka bonus plan). True: there is no current 401K match. This is typical for a pre-IPO company and our CEO has said that a matching 401K program is a priority post-IPO. (By the way ... we don't curate reviews. Promise.)

      Pros

      - Strong pride in product and reputation. - Great at hiring smart, driven people at all levels. - Shared optimism about company's future. - New CEO does regular town halls, listens to employee questions and answers genuinely.

      Cons

      - Departments work independently/in their best interest at times, confusing ownership of issues/problems. - Some decisions/promotions still made politically or are prematurely "promised," though it seemed to be improving before I left. - no 401k match

      Thank you for writing a review and the advice. We do try to support internal transfers. (I myself did this.) However, we could do better and your review is a good reminder. I will share this review with the HR Leadership to see how we can build this into our Career Development and Learning & Development plans. True there is no 401K match. That is typical for a pre-IPO company. And Dan says it is a priority of his post-IPO.

      Awesome employer with great potential

      Pros

      DocuSign is a great company with an outstanding solution and approach to enable clients to successfully take the digital journey together. The working atmosphere and the team were great from the very start and feels like a mixture of family and professionals working towards the same goals. There is a good work-life balance as well as great company values and culture that make even the work time pleasant. The job is challenging, but very interesting as well. The DocuSign solution is very easy to use, but gets complex when you dive into the details to find a perfect fit for the client and his use-cases. The Management ist supportive and there is an open culture, which I personally enjoy to be a part of. As DocuSign is still comparably small in EMEA, I think the growth just started and will continue and with that it will be an even greater company to work for in the future.

      Cons

      DocuSign needs more local teams to support growth in DACH, which are native speakers and have a deeper understanding of the clients and market environment to drive adoption and growth.
