Pros

there are few lay offs and high level of security. most jobs are not challenging or stressful, get free fruit

Cons

no opportunites to grow, no innovation, very backwards and old fashion, not a lot of training opportunites offered, only senior management has a say in what goes on , no flex time schedules or work from home options (in practice, theory maybe)

Pros

Quite literally none, other than being paid. I've had part-time jobs be of more use to me than this place.

Cons

Required to be in-office. Their "office politics" mainly consisted of meaningless gossip, negligence, and a culture breeding hostility and resentment. If you have decent industry experience, talent or drive of any kind, please, for the love of God, run elsewhere. These people will try to pick and pull you apart for the sake of not doing their own jobs. I have never in my life been more gaslit and tossed around than I have by the people working at this company. I wish I had known this before because I would’ve never signed that job offer. For the first time in my entire career, I had to file a complaint with HR for sexual harassment and discrimination. Within the first month of my being there, no less. From the moment I started, I felt a slight uneasiness and unwelcome, as if they were unhappy with me being hired, before even trying to get to know me as a human being. Coworkers would whisper, looking directly at me, purposely trying to make me uncomfortable. Coworkers would speak outwardly about me, as if I was incapable of hearing them. Insulting both my intelligence and me as a human being. A fellow employee would stand up by their desk -- nearly everyday -- and would outwardly make comments on my outfits, my face, my makeup, the way I walked -- literally anything, out loud, for the whole room to hear. Without ever coming up to me and speaking a word to my face. Absolutely disgusting. Multiple higher-ups heard this, and did absolutely nothing but shoot me guilty glances, that practically screamed: "please don't sue us." They made me feel like I deserved to be treated that way. It seemed like they enjoyed poking and prodding me around. I felt completely defiled and humiliated. It left me in a state of shock most days. HR conducted an “investigation” but despite this, improvements were scarce. I have never been on the receiving end of such blatant and causeless disrespect as I did here. I was left out of countless meetings. I sat on my own, being whispered about and treated like a zoo animal on display. I have never seen such a dark side to humanity before. HR and management violated ADA guidelines, and both retaliated against me for filing for (very necessary) ADA accommodations due to the mistreatment I had been facing. I was suddenly placed on a PIP, began having opportunities taken away from me (that had once been promised), and began getting excluded more so than I had before. That level of disdain and neglect is all too normalized throughout Dole. For most of my time here, I was being harassed -- sexually, verbally, and indirectly. I was extremely uncomfortable most days in that office. I had no clue it was possible for a company of this size to be so content with such widespread harassment of a new employee. It breaks my heart how a brand I was once so fond of could completely mutilate me for no good reason.

Pros

Salary raise every year. Good insurance

Cons

Typical scenario of tail wagging the dog, the smaller Costa Rica IT offshore services wags the US arm. In 2018 after an Irish company acquired Dole, the Costa Rica arm took over all IT- mafia style, by laying off Americans and outsourcing all IT to Costa RIca, where the management and resources were mostly incompetent with a few exceptions. Folks with Costa Rica connections in the US stayed back as they had sucked up to the new Global CIO. It was a simple power play. This place has gone downhill ever since due to business conditions.
