Pros

It's a great company to work for, everyone is always very nice and welcoming. Job security is great here and they have been around for a long time. There is always room for promotion and they help you to get where you would like to be. They have a lot of great benefits and the hours that you work are also a bonus and banks are closed for most holidays so it is extra paid days off! Also, I love that they are very focused on customer service rather than strictly on the amount of business.

Cons

I wish that I made more money there but I understand there is give and take with every job and other banks that pay more have rediculous and strict goals for their employees that can lead to termination if not met.

Pros

There is a great feeling of community at work functions and classes, tons of training, management is very consistent with following procedures. Health, retirement and childcare benefits are awesome.

Cons

They make promises of moving up in the company quickly, but then only hire from outside. Pay is on a gradual increase for 6 months. Poor compensation, no bonuses or commission for ANYTHING.

Pros

There are many great people who work in the branches. Most branch colleagues are supportive and provide help when needed. The company is good about respecting a fair work life balance as well as there are understanding if a personal need arises. Dollar Bank has a good training department and provides a solid basic foundation in banking operations.

Cons

There is not any communication between departments and no consistancy in getting the correct answer to policies and operations. Qualified women are consistantly passed up for advancement by men. There are few opportunities for career growth and advancement between departments. Dollar Bank is a good entry level bank to learn the basics but it is not a good move for a career women who is looking to stay and grow with the company.
