Pros

good benifits, great coworkers, nice tv in the break room, ability to help people with bad credit rebuild their credit

Cons

work 50 to 60 hours most weeks for 40 hour pay. told at time of hire that there would be an ocasional saturday here and there. have had off maybe 5 saturdays in the past 5 months. no consideration for home life the only thing that is important are the cars to sell. goals change every 5 minutes it seems and no one tells the people in the trenches until 2 days after a goal change and by then it is to late to salvage a week!! buildings are in disrepair, leaks bad when it rains, heat is hit or miss as to wether it will work or not in the winter, usually works fine in the middle of summer,

Pros

The benefits (especially if you are fit and qualify for Tier 1, like I did, receiving the highest discount). The exposure to title work, underwriting, inventory management, sales, interfacing with other departments, etc ... it is invaluable and you will be a stronger person if you can handle the rings of fire you must jump through working for Drive Time.

Cons

1) You work extremely long hours with no compensation for it. 2) The dealerships are short-staffed and you have to work and will often pull 12+hours. 3) You are expected to do too much ... at the end of the day, the market managers will always be on the sales side. If you are overwhelmed and express this after you realize you are not getting the help that was promised, they will do what they can to make like difficult by creating a hostile working environment. 4) No support or feedback from upper-management, including HR. No one is reachable by phone. You will talk to voice mail more than upper management. 5) You have too many tasks to the point you are spread thin. 6) Belling on a daily (8:00 until ...) 7) No classroom training; everything is a webinar on PowerPoint. 8) Upper management is not trying to help you get to where you need to be if it means working in their department(s).

Former Employee Review - Retail Location

Pros

While working at DriveTime I gained some great experience that will carry over into other work environments. I worked in an office environment that involved various aspects of dealership operations from payments to titling. Therefore, all of the different aspects will help me in any future work environment from reception to title clerk at the DMV. DriveTime was very good about telling employees about what's going on at other dealerships and promotions. For the most part everyone got along quite well and were like a family. However, as with any office environment there's always a fair share of drama.

Cons

Managerial staff at the location I worked at did not provide regular feedback on performance. When it came time for my first 6-month review to my final year, I heard very little on my performance and where I stood. If you are the type of employee who needs recognition and to know you are performing adequately than this particular location is not for you. However, I cannot speak for other locations and management who may compliment or give constructive criticism regularly. This is just from my personal experience!
