      Pros

      Good plant locations, decent salary for external employees but horrible for promotes

      Cons

      Complete disengagement from Department Manager on up. There is no accountability for poor managers, they just keep cycling the same poor performers to other positions. Senior leadership always blames the first line leadership for all the issues

      Pros

      It is the largest electric company in the nation. They provide a necessary utility and are honest with regard to billing.

      Cons

      I was a legacy Progress Energy employee, and used to love my job. After the merger and Duke took over, everything changed. They began hiring employees at a lower pay rate - which affected the culture. They changed our benefits packages for the worse. Etc....
