Pros

Flexible work schedule that accommodates my family. The annual bonus is always looked forward to and has grown each year. Their 6% match on 401k investments is awesome.

Cons

There aren’t clear paths for growth. Without changing jobs or someone leaving the next level of engineering I cannot progress. I have peaked and I’m only 8 years in.

Many particular organizations are a nightmare to work in. Upper management in those particular organization battle for their piece of the pie in terms of power and within the organization. It leads to constant rework, few firm decisions, and a negative working atmosphere. Overall, those organizations destroy company value and make it easy to resign and move on to work elsewhere.
