Pros

Work life balance, not generally demanding, nice people.

Cons

Slow culture, because the business is regulated they will make money no matter what, I found that discouraged innovation and new ideas from taking off. Can be a good ole boys club

Pros

Extremely stable, very difficult to get fired or laid off. Lots of resources and smart people Really good family environment, especially in Ops centers Benefits are really good. 12 weeks for paternity & maternity leave. Maximum of 10% company 401k contribution Annual bonuses that increase as you move up

Cons

Upper management is completely out of touch with the day to day activities. Many engineers are very underpaid compared to outside consulting firms. Get promotions can be very political at times and HR is extremely difficult and stubborn to work with. There is also an extreme lack of transparency from upper management. Seems to be alot of secrecy and individual contributors and sometimes frontline managers are left in the dark
