An average company trying to redefine itself

Pros

Good core asset so there is the possibility the company can do well. Certain teams are very tight and work well together. Company is trying to keep culture healthy by implementing new management practices. Might be a good environment for someone looking for stable, straight-forward work or if you work at the Company headquarters in Plano, TX.

Cons

Slow moving and too tentative in implementing change or any "real" vision. Highly political and territorial environment where good ideas don't get consistently recognized or implemented. Doesn't always act like a "mature" global company despite geographic presence and age; ego-centric and insecure headquarters routinely marginalize other offices, centralizing and propping-up of headquarters promotes "Groupthink". Dysfunctional leadership team that has historically rewarded backstabbing and boastful players.

Pros

Good relationships with colleagues. An informal working style and culture, and a company that still knows how to have fun despite the hardships imposed.

Cons

It's not how it used to be when the EMEA region was more autonomous. There is a strong lack of trust and empowerment from the head quarters in Texas, which seems to trickle down the organisation. Widespread low levels of staff engagement. Very high levels of stress, particularly among junior members of staff who have very little control over their jobs and little to no involvement in decision making.
