Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive.

Cons

ENSCO is trying to expand too quickly without having the correct staff in place; the feeling is that they're hiring anybody who applies. Management is underqualified and untrained. Management takes too long to handle HR complaints in regards to harassment and mistreatment of subordinate employees. There are limited positions open and room for growth or new opportunities is limited.

Dear ENSCO former employee, I am concerned about your comments. We have multiple locations and operate in multiple markets, so I don’t know your specific situation. I can tell you, however, we take HR complaints very seriously and work to resolve them in a constructive, proactive and timely manner. From employees’ comments and actions, we do know that most ENSCO employees enjoy their work environment and respect the people they are working with and for. Many employees stay with the company for many years, and our employee retention rates significantly exceed the industry average. While we may encounter hurdles when the company expands, I believe that company growth is very positive for our employees; growth increases opportunities for career advancement, which was one of your concerns. I am sorry your experience at ENSCO was not a positive one. I believe this was an exception that does not reflect the experience of most ENSCO employees. Our goal is to provide a work environment where no employee has a negative work experience. Please, feel free to reach out to me personally to discuss this further. We value input from both current and former employees and will take steps to improve where we can. Regards, Boris

Management does not care

Pros

The location is nice for most of the year.

Cons

The management really does not care for the employees at all. They are struggling to receive contracts which has made for an even more chaotic work environment. Mandatory overtime is generally always a thing and the salaries are a complete joke for a engineering firm.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback, and I’m sorry that you had a negative experience working for our ENSCO Avionics subsidiary. The subsidiary did have some challenges with sales last year, and I presume this affected the work environment and your personal experience. This year, the Avionics sales pipeline has significantly improved, and this should positively affect the work environment. ENSCO as a whole has always had a very good retention rate and high employee satisfaction (both are well above the industry average based on outside independent surveys). We have many employees who have been with the company for long time. In just the last two months, we celebrated three employees who have been with the company for 35, 40 and 45 years! We offer good benefits, rewarding work, and growth opportunities. We benchmark our salaries against companies of similar size in our industry, and our compensation is competitive. That said, even one dissatisfied employee is one too many. We’re working to improve in the areas you mention. We are working to strengthen our management practices and have just recently implemented management and new supervisor training to ensure that our employees in management roles have the tools and best practices to perform to their full potential. When we see gaps in performance, we identify them and work to mentor individuals who have room for improvement. I wish you the best in your career moving forward. If you would like to discuss this further, or if I can be of assistance to you, please contact me directly.
