Pros

Smart People to work with Great Name for the resume Interesting clients and projects Proven Systems that can be used at other jobs

Cons

Too many layers of people and rules Lots of hoops to jump through and govt. regulations Getting technology to be successful was like pulling teeth You end up doing routine tasks for clients because they are too lazy so they just hire you

Pros

- Interesting work opportunities - The partners and ED's in my practice are very sharp - If you're good at your job, you will be recognized and networked in - Very flexible scheduling; as long as the client's happy, you're usually fine - Very open and approachable culture for a consulting firm

Cons

- Lock-step promotion; no matter what you do, everyone gets promoted at about the same pace. - Observed that this incentives mediocrity in mid-level retention, at times causing mediocre management retention (like many firms); but this gets weeded out before the partner level. - Pay not impressive for industry
