Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your feedback. Our team receives your input with much consideration. At EHTP and East Harlem Scholars Academies, we additionally acknowledge that the hours for primarily instructional staff are long, and staff members are typically expected to take on additional responsibilities during the school day that they were originally unaware of at the start of their hire. While there should be an understanding of any staff member that is newly hired that there’s a level of commitment that is expected from our staff, as reflected in the website and the thoroughly written job descriptions, the Recruitment Team is increasing there efforts to create new roles and hire staff for these roles for the current and upcoming school year so that teachers and other staff will have enough time to complete the work that is expected of them. Please see our job description for our Operations and Culture Assistant role here: https://boards.greenhouse.io/eastharlemtutorialprogram/jobs/3642438 We take your feedback very seriously and will continue to use the constructive feedback to improve our practices here at EHTP so that are staff may feel safe, supported, and valued. We hope you find this information helpful. Please stay safe and be well!

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your feedback. Our team receives your input with much consideration. We want to note that our organization has been taking strides to enforce our anti-racist work in our practice. While we understand that doing the work as abolitionists is an ongoing and relentless effort, and that eradicating racism in a professional space is continuous work, we keep our anti-racist mission at the center of everything we do, from outsourcing new staff, to hiring new staff and supporting such staff in their first 90 days of employment. Examples of what this looks like on our Recruitment Team include: ensuring our hiring practices are equitable; conducting anti-biased training for our hiring managers to norm; and discussing our new compensation scale in hopes that this initiative helps us close our income inequality gap. We take your advice on supporting staff in their anti-racist training very seriously and will take the opportunity to review this feedback with our school leaders in preparation for the upcoming school year. We hope that this information provides some insight into our growth and development here at EHTP and we wish you the best of luck in your career development! Stay safe and be well.
