There is a lot of bias at Educators. It’s a Racine based credit union so the branches outside of Racine are not really appreciated. Because of that it’s normal for good employees to go unappreciated. During my time there I’ve seen terrible employees keep their job while good employees lost them. Educators is unfortunately a company that will give bad employees many opportunities to get it right, but will fire good employees for making one mistake.
Another con is the pay, generally branch employees are greatly underpaid compared to other financials/ credit unions. They make up for it a bit with a generous bonus at the end of the year but are way behind in wages / benefits.
The work life balance of a full time in branch employee is pretty. You give this company all your time for very little reward. You can be a teller/lender working 6 days a week and watch your managers take vacations every other week. It can get very discouraging very fast.
Managers depending on which branch you work do not lead by example and will usually not jump in the fire with their employees. I was fortunate to have an assistant manager who went through it all with her employees but that was not the case with all managers.
