GET OUT!

Pros

If your lab gets a ridiculously high buyout offer from Element, take the money and run. But don't look back. It will only break your heart.

Cons

If Element buys your laboratory, put your resume on LinkedIn, Monster, etc and GET OUT. How do you know upper management is lying? Their lips are moving. They will promise you the moon to make you stay during the transition period and then destroy everything you have spent your career building. They start by intimidating and pushing out your long time employees that created your successful lab. Your clients will leave. Your employees will leave. Skyrocketing pricing is disguising the destruction of this once respectable industry.

Pros

You’ll gain experience in a few types of testing.

Cons

Wouldn’t hire more staff even thought multiple people quit in a row

Pros

The people in the lab were mostly great to be around

Cons

No matter what problem we had, we couldn't get it fixed due to corporate overhead and a bureaucracy that didn't listen. People have too much overtime, are tired and hate their job? Their response was just to work less and get approval for overtime, which would have meant not completing tests and thus getting fired. Speaking of which, in no specific order: Chronically understaffed and overworked Some jobs are isolated and lonely Dealing with disgusting samples sometimes (didn't bother me too much but it might bother others)
