Anthem pays well, has a solid benefit package and treats people well day to day

Cons

RIFs are frequent and unpredictable. The are now frequent enough that there is no acknowledgement of them - you simply get an email bounce back and that tells you someone is gone. .

I have been able to grow over the first 5 years of my career. The Anthem I worked for 5 years ago is not the same and it is not for the better.

Cons

Since Jan 2019 approx 1,400 resources have been RIFed. This has occurred to resources that have moved to Atlanta for the “work place strategy”. It is hard to be motivated to work the long hours and go the extra mile when you have no confidence your job will be there tomorrow. Senior leadership is making financial decisions and is not considering what is means to support the business. I think this will be a big mistake. The stakeholders may be met but the growth will not without the needed IT improvements. The systems are VERY complicated and you can’t hire new resources off the street with the expectation they will be independent for at least a year.

Cons

Constant management changes, may work for 2 or more managers in a year. Changes in policies causes employees to lose their jobs. they target employees over 45 as part of their reduction in workforce. Only interested in the bottom line.
