Pros

Mid-level management cares about their employees

Cons

Executive leaders focus only on profit and stock price. They are also taking away work from home opportunities for employees with no reason. This is a lose- lose for everyone. There is no thought to how things affect their employees as long as it fits them short term. Every meeting seems to be bad news and that we "suck" as employees. We can't live up to the mark. There has been a major shift in culture at Anthem, and it is not positive.

Terrible place to work, unless you just care about the pay check

Pros

Has work from home flexibility

Cons

Corrupt top level leadership, vendor take over of the IT department, employees laid off just because they were 55+, leadership does not listen, everyone talks about innovation but no one really knows how to innovate, too many failed projects, constant re-orgs, no one cares about the employees, unrealistic deadlines, fake promises to customers, fake mission and purpose, only cares about making money, no career path for most, too much politics

Pros

I really liked the company culture and the trust that the managers put into their employees to do a good job and meet deliverables.

Cons

They have yearly Re-Orgs and people get shifted and laid off constantly. The latest one being the workforce realignment where they are forcing people into early retirement or laying them off with severance because they want to build up their Atlanta, GA and Virginia locations. Many of the work from home people in IT were were laid off. So many years of Anthem knowledge walked out the door.
