Pros

- you work from the comfort of your own home - work ends when the school day ends and the hours are very reasonable - very nice and supportive colleagues and managers - the hourly pay and effort you make are very reasonable and proportional - you are recognized for the work you do, and you can get more hours as long as you make yourself available

Cons

- there are not many summer programs, so you may not get summer hours

Pros

Elevate K12? More like Eliminate K12, because that’s exactly what they do—to employees, teachers, and any sense of job security. This place isn’t an EdTech company, it’s a corporate Hunger Games where the rules change daily and only the CEO’s favorites make it out alive. Let’s talk about their business model—aka legal exploitation. They slap an ‘innovative’ label on what’s basically a glorified staffing agency, funneling teachers into virtual classrooms while skimming off the top. They promise stability, but in reality? It’s a revolving door of burnout, favoritism, and mass layoffs. Teachers? Oh, they get treated like disposable dollar-store substitutes. Overworked, underpaid, and constantly reminded that they’re replaceable. Meanwhile, management plays favorites—if you’re in their little club, you’ll get sweet deals, extra chances, and job security. But if you’re not? Good luck. One ‘cost-cutting measure’ and you’re gone faster than a snow day announcement. And layoffs? Absolutely ruthless. No warnings, no transparency—just a cold, impersonal email letting you know that your time is up. They’ll talk about ‘tough decisions’ while the CEO and top execs keep cashing fat paychecks and spewing corporate buzzwords. At the end of the day, Elevate K12 isn’t elevating anything except corporate greed and employee misery. They claim to be about education, but the only lesson they’re teaching is how to exploit workers, play favorites, and dump employees without a second thought. If you’re thinking of working here, don’t walk—RUN."

Cons

he only thing this company elevates is false hope before it mercilessly drops employees faster than a malfunctioning Zoom call. One moment, you're grinding to 'revolutionize virtual learning,' the next, you're getting blindsided by mass layoffs like a poorly scripted reality show. The CEO and founder talk a big game about 'transforming education,' but the only transformation happening is their bank accounts getting fatter while hardworking employees get tossed aside like yesterday’s lesson plans. Maybe instead of selling empty dreams, they should take a crash course in basic human decency. This company is a glorified temp agency disguised as an EdTech leader—treating employees like disposable, off-brand substitutes while corporate execs play musical chairs with people's livelihoods. They preach about student success but fail their own workforce with a big fat F in job security, honesty, and respect. At the end of the day, Elevate K12 isn't an educational revolution—it’s a corporate slaughterhouse that chews up talent and spits out pink slips. Hope their next 'big innovation' is figuring out how to run a company without treating employees like trash."

We recognize that everyone’s experience is different, and while we regret that yours was not positive, we want to address some of the concerns raised in your review. While Elevate K-12 operates in a rapidly evolving market, decisions are made with long-term sustainability and student impact in mind—not out of favoritism or greed. Like any organization adapting to industry shifts, changes and restructuring may occur, but they are never taken lightly, and we work hard to support our employees and partners through these transitions. Our teachers and employees are at the core of what we do, and we provide professional learning opportunities, support, and growth within the organization. The idea that only a select few are given opportunities is simply not accurate—we invest in all employees who align with our mission and contribute to our success. We stand by our commitment to providing a meaningful, mission-driven workplace and remain focused on supporting both students and teachers in an innovative, evolving educational landscape.

Pros

-Remote -Most employees tended to be thoughtful if they weren't with the home office.

Cons

- Leadership treats teachers, subs, and other entry level people terribly. They ghosted me after promising continued employment. - They tech looks like something from 2012 and it's outsourced to an Indian IT firm. It might have improved but it constantly crashed when I worked there. - Didn't think it was possible but the curriculum is actually worse than what public schools teach.

Teachers are consistently top of mind at Elevate K-12. Improving the teacher experience has been the catalyst for many recent technology advancements we’ve made in the last 6 months. We’re sorry that you felt your experience teaching with Elevate was negative, but we’re confident in the changes we’ve made to support teachers and their classrooms this school year.
