Pros

Paychecks, however meager, are still coming.

Cons

The work environment at EmblemHealth is indescribably bad. Whole departments are laid off, causing contractually required processes to stop dead. Senior management told us that when our colleagues are "rebadged" to Cognizant we would still work together as if nothing had changed. But the names of the "rebadged" disappeared from the company directory overnight. How are we supposed to contact them? Other colleagues are fired for incomprehensible reasons. Many more are dashing to competitors or to companies just to get away. Our new CEO brings in D.C. cronies who don't understand the New York market. She hands down directives to her staff without knowing the background, resulting in utter chaos. I'll be gone as soon as I find a decent opportunity. Stay away from this nightmare.

Pros

None that I can think of. The only thing that was decent is the salary

Cons

Managment is incompetent, favoritism and racism in certain departments particularly in the Melville office. Management treats there employees like dogs

Pros

Many people really care and are very nice, but they'll soon become your ex-colleagues.

Cons

I pains me to write this, but once you leave EmblemHealth, you truly realize how bad a place it is. Good people, just worked to the limit with few career paths. Endless layoffs. No employee retention strategy and everyone is looking for the exits. Awful health benefits plan for an insurance company. Even car dealers have a special good employee rate if you're buying a car. If you’re considering working here, I suggest waiting a year to see if the new CEO’s turnaround plan is complete.
