Goodbye Employees Hello Outsourcing

Pros

Emblem was a good place to work with many employees staying 20 plus years but due to some poor business decisions profitability plummeted. Employees enjoyed good benefits including 401k, cash pension payments for managers, good health care benefits and generous vacation allowances but this has changed dramatically over the last year.

Cons

Mangagement took away many of the generous benefits and eliminated many employees to cut costs. Now they have decided to outsource the entire technology platform to Cognizant and lay off the majority of the Emblem staff. The remaining staff now are in the process of training their replacements

Miserable and toxic environment...

Pros

Cheap gym and on-site cafeteria. Nice amount of PTO days.

Cons

Where do I start?? The company is totally dysfunctional and no one knows what's going on. We hear nothing from leadership and the new CEO just keeps bringing in her own executive staff from AHIP to try to turn the company around so that she can earn her precious bonus at the expense of laying off hundreds of employees, taking away our benefits, bonuses and salary increases. Isn't it ironic that a supposed health and wellness company no longer has a health and wellness program for employees? Yes, even those programs have been taken away. But we have a mascot so that should help make up for it, right? Employees are so spread thin and doing the work of three people because everyone has been jumping ship and the company does not want to bother to replace anyone. HR is useless and completely incompetent. Morale is so low, but they don't care to do anything about it.

Pros

- wavering benefits - policy and workflow procedure is pretty non-existent - every task is a priority approved by management

Cons

- too much hypocrisy - extensive amount of outsourcing - I get more information on the company from google than senior management.
