Don’t recommend working here

Pros

Some nice people work here.

Cons

Lack of leadership - many behave immaturely and lead by fear. They don’t treat their people like humans deserving of respect - they treat them like robots and don’t care if you break. Chaotic project timeless with no sense of purpose. They don’t believe in technology. They don’t take MLK day or Juneteenth off. A lot of the sales people here are racist, immature, and unprofessional. PTO is terrible: you barely get any time off and it’s on an accrued structure. They won’t listen to you but they constantly say that honesty is important. Pay isn’t competitive

Pros

Supportive management. Choice of schedules. PTO benefit even for the part-timers. Opportunity to work from home in certain roles and locations. Decent benefits package overall.

Cons

Given the services being performed, current times mean getting crushed by the pressures daily as millions seek to return to work or to change jobs. This, combined with the pressures resulting from mergers and acquisitions, means management is looking for more ways to squeeze blood from a turnip. There are frequent network software glitches. Personnel must find ways to periodically improve their performance even in situations where they consistently exceed expectations performing under difficult circumstances. Applicants are frequently frustrated they lack direct access to branch personnel and must work with coordinator go-betweens who perform many routine services and troubleshoot individual issues. Multiple owned agency brands and types of relationships with the parent company create frequent stumbling blocks which can impair performance or fulfillment for both staffers and applicants. Current leadership is aiming at resolving at least some of these issues.

A promising company

Pros

Within the area of the business I worked, there are many dedicated, kind people who want the business to grow and be successful. In my time with the company, I saw multiple people promoted, given raises, transferred to try different roles. The CEO has a great vision and the C level executives communicate very well. There is so much wisdom and experience in the upper management areas with many people who love the company so much that they have been there over a decade (rare to see with many of the other roles I've had).

Cons

Within the newer parts of the organization, there are troubles. It seems like the previous CTO (who I had much respect for) brought in a team that wasn't quite in alignment. This led to issues actually delivering what we were tasked with. It seemed that within technology, though the people themselves were very intelligent and great to work with, they didn't agree with how to proceed forward. I do see opportunity to get past this and achieve the business goals. One smaller piece, and the primary reason I'm leaving is around benefits. In technology, the benefits are usually better than what EB currently offers. Even if the pay is higher, health coverage is higher than what other companies, at least that hire for tech positions, offer.
