Pros
Fabulous clients and fellow DSPs
Cons
I would not recommend Aspire Living and Learning to anyone, anymore. It was once some of the best client focused adult programming NH had to offer for disabled populations. Now however, they can not hire in staff faster than they are losing them. This leads to many clients being left unoccupied throughout their days while the company bills for services that only include the most basic levels of babysitting. This is all while being unable to provide even that for the many clients who would like to return to program full time but can not, due to low staffing. This is partially due to the National DSP staffing crisis, but it also has everything to do with the toxic, top heavy, management, particularly at the Stratham, NH office. With two exceptions, management there has created a culture of intimidation where DSPs are expendable (a manager literally said DSPs have an easy job where they just get to hang out; watch movies; and have fun all day) and clients and their families are no longer put first. This along with the constant addition of new managerial and corporate positions that don’t directly benefit clients makes Aspire a moral and ethically dubious place to work. The clients and DSPs there deserve far better than what this company is offering, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
