Pros
Dallas office culture used to be great; Ex-ex President was very friendly; CEO is excellent; Great jobsite safety & quality; Very good benefits & pay;
Cons
- Dallas company culture has really declined. Balfour's recent acquisition of several other companies has destroyed the "small company" culture of all of them; - Promotions are nearly non-existent, unless you are politically tied to someone higher-up --- they are NOT performance based. In the past year, many talented employees have fled the company. - Upper management has had a lot of turnover the past 2 yrs --- very political & management is out of touch w/ employees. Most recent Presidents in the past 1-1/2 yrs have been awful; - Certain managers really abuse their employees, denying them any work/life balance and "clock watching" --- requiring employees to be at work even when work is slow; - Tenured employees are walked on & terminated when convenient; Preconstruction management is rigid & has a "my way or the highway" attitude toward employees; - Very "toxic" / "political" / "unsafe" atmosphere; Employees must "watch their back" at all times; - As the company has grown, it has taken on a "big company" atmosphere: Unnecessary rules & regulations have made them less competitive as a company and have also contributed to the decline of the culture;
