Pros
The food, campus, opportunities to grow your soft skills, pretty good flexibility to choose your own path based on your interests. The people are very driven and hard working.
Cons
Inflexible policies around work from home and remote work. Upper management has no trust in its employees, even though most of us work extremely hard in an understaffed setting. The COVID response was shameful for a company that should be a leader in the industry. Decisions are made by upper management in a vacuum. Work-life balance is not great for the most part. You’re typically expected to put 45 focused hours in per week, but some weeks will be 55+ and there’s no avoiding that. You’ll gain a lot of soft skills here, but Epic software is very unique and doesn’t necessarily transfer to other parts of the software industry.
