Pros

Culture: - Execs/senior staff genuinely care about everyone (yes, everyone) - Great people - Stocked kitchen - Weekly catered lunches (no, not sandwiches and subs) - Something for everyone (i.e. Yoga group, book channel, Women of Expel (WOE) group, gaming group, etc) - Great HH's and holiday parties. - Shuffleboard - Lots of funny trolling and puns Work: - Regardless of whether you're an industry newbie or expert, you'll gain a better understanding of network security in any position at Expel. - Work is challenging and meaningful, and Expel does a lot to ensure everyone understands the individual value each person adds to our customers. - Startup company so if there are any other departments/fields of work you're interested in, it's really easy to get involved. Benefits: - Great benefits, remote opportunities, you'll be well taken care of.

Cons

- Easy to over-extend yourself if you're passionate about helping the company. - Experimental culture and not afraid to take risks so some processes are a bit more abstract and not as defined as they would be at larger companies. - Firm learning curve if you're new to the industry. - Since it's a smaller company, there's not as much flexibility around educational diversity because training programs aren't fully established.

Wow! We’re so glad you feel valued at Expel. When we’re growing so quickly it’s easy to understand how sometimes folks might over-extend themselves. We’re currently solidifying our company values which will strongly reiterate that we have to care for ourselves first, so I hope you feel comfortable raising your hand if/when you feel stretched thin at work. We’re also excited about some of our new learning and development programs, and it’s fantastic that you find this important, too. We’ve hired a Director of Learning and Development since the posting of your review, woot! We’ve also established Expel Cares so that you and others can make a difference in our communities. By the way…I too, love the trolling of our execs and punny business at work. Thank you for being part of our tribe!

Pros

The interview process was absolutely seamless, and I felt well informed about next steps and expectations every step of the way (shoutout to Brandon!). Every single person I met was warm, inviting, and genuinely seemed happy to be part of the Expel team, which made the decision to accept my offer an easy yes! :) The onboarding experience was intentional and thoughtfully personalized to my role, with a checklist that was easy to follow and trainings that built naturally week by week in a way that never felt overwhelming. We also had the opportunity to participate in new hire meet and greets with leaders across the organization, and what continues to stand out to me is the level of transparency, authenticity, and humanness every leader at Expel brings.

Cons

The success of current AEs at Expel is super inspiring, which sets a high bar and everyone is very driven, so it can take a bit of time a to fully ramp and feel confident in your role initially. It also takes time to build key relationships and earn trust with partners and customers, so consistent presence, early territory engagement, and ongoing relationship building are critical to long term success.
