Pros

1. Wonderful professional development 2. Value teachers 3. Great collaborative teams 4. Good curriculum resources 5. Great PTO and community involvement 6. I had a para most years, at least for a portion of the day which was wonderful

Cons

Pay was better than some schools in the area when I worked there, however it's still teacher pay. Class sizes could be big at times and sometimes they would wait to hire teachers until numbers inflated after the first day of school which was a bit stressful - nothing out of the norm for public schools, however. Overall great place to work, I was sad to leave such an amazing corporation when I moved out of state.

Pros

Building level work is wonderful. Great community feeling in most buildings. Supportive co-workers, everyone does what it takes to support the kids and one another.

Cons

Central office level work is terrible. Seeing how the district is run at this level was demoralizing. There is no regard for the staff in buildings, administration is FAR out of touch and do not have any idea nor do they care what is actually going on in the schools. Seeing dedicated staff (teachers and support staff alike) being cheated and steamrolled by HR/Finance/admin was deplorable. They do not care one bit about the staff or the students. Way overpaid, awful human beings who should be stripped of their titles and taken away from public school decision making completely.
